Buying & Installation

How do I measure my windows for smart blinds? Do I need to do it myself

The great news is you don’t have to measure yourself – our team will take precise measurements during your free in-home consultation. We prefer to handle it to ensure accuracy (down to the millimeter). However, if you’re just looking for a ballpark estimate or want to prep, you can measure the width and height of your window’s opening in at least three spots (in case it isn’t perfectly square). Use the smallest measurement as your reference. For outside mounts, measure the area you’d like covered. But again, leave the exact measuring to us – it’s part of our service, and it guarantees a perfect fit for your custom blinds

I have uniquely shaped windows (arches, angled, etc.). Can you do motorized coverings for those?

We love a good challenge! We offer solutions for many specialty window shapes. Some, like half-circle arches, can be fitted with custom motorized cellular shades that still open and close. Others might use fixed treatments if motorization isn’t feasible (we’d be honest about that). Angled or sloped windows can often take a top-down-bottom-up style motorized shade. If a shape truly can’t be motorized, we’ll tell you and perhaps suggest an alternative (like motorized drapery that can cover the window when needed). In short, let’s take a look – chances are we have a clever way to dress that unique window

How long does it take to get my blinds once I order, and how long does installation take?

From the time you place your order, it typically takes about 3..6 weeks for your custom blinds to be manufactured and ready. (This can vary a bit depending on the materials and factory workload – we’ll give you a timeframe when you order.) Once we have them, we schedule installation right away at a convenient time for you. The installation itself is usually pretty quick – for example, installing 5-6 motorized shades might take 2-3 hours. Of course, larger or more complex projects (say a whole house with 20+ windows, or outdoor installations) could take longer or multiple visits. We’ll give you an estimate of install time in advance. And we always clean up after ourselves, so all you’re left with are beautiful new shades, ready to use.

Do I need an electrician or special wiring for these blinds?

In the vast majority of cases, no electrician or new wiring needed. Our default motors are battery-powered (and can be solar-charged), so they don’t require any hardwired connection. We just mount the shades and set up the remote/app – easy peasy. If you prefer a plug-in motor (maybe for a high-usage living room shade) and have an outlet nearby, we can use that. If you’re building or remodeling and want hardwired shades, we can absolutely do that too – in that case, we coordinate on running wires (or work with your electrician). But for retrofitting an existing home, the cordless battery approach keeps things simple and non-invasive – no drywall cutting or wiring needed. We’ll discuss power options during your consult and choose what’s best for you.

Can I install motorized blinds myself?

These systems are more involved than regular blinds, so we generally recommend professional installation (and our pricing includes it). Motorized blinds require careful measurement, programming, and sometimes electrical know-how, so DIY could be tricky. Plus, our team ensures everything is level, secure, and integrated properly with remotes/apps. That said, if you’re pretty handy and tech-savvy, some simpler kits out there are DIY-friendly – but those often aren’t the fully custom, high-quality solutions we provide. If you order through us, we handle installation for you to guarantee everything works perfectly. Sit back and relax – we’ve got it covered

Will you remove my old blinds or curtains?

Absolutely, if you need us to. During installation, we can take down existing window treatments (blinds, shades, curtains, hardware, etc.) to make way for the new ones. We’ll discuss this ahead of time so we budget enough time. We’ll also haul away the old materials if you don’t want them. There’s no extra fee for removal/disposal of old blinds in most cases – it’s part of making the process convenient for you (if it’s something major like heavy built-in wooden shutters, we’d talk specifics, but normal removals are fine). We’ll even try to patch any minor holes from brackets with a bit of filler if you’d like. Basically, we’ll leave your windows tidy and your room likely cleaner than we found it!

Technology & Integration

Will these blinds work with my smart home system (Alexa, Google, Siri, etc.)?

Yes! Our smart blinds are designed to play nicely with all the popular platforms: – Amazon Alexa: We can program scenes or routines so you can say, “Alexa, open the blinds” or include blinds in an Alexa routine (like “Good Morning”). If you have an Echo with Zigbee (like Echo Show 10 or Echo 4th Gen), certain motors can connect directly. If not, we use a small bridge device – but to you, it’ll feel seamless.
Google Assistant: Same idea – you can use Google Home app or voice commands to control the shades (e.g., “Hey Google, lower the kitchen shade halfway”). Our systems integrate via either direct Wi-Fi, a bridge, or now Matter integration.
Apple HomeKit (Siri): We offer motors that are HomeKit-certified (including the new Thread/Matter motors). You can use the Apple Home app or Siri voice commands like “Hey Siri, close the blinds in the den.” Setup may involve scanning a QR code on the device – we’ll handle that with you.
SmartThings, Hubitat, etc.: Many enthusiast hubs are compatible too, through Z-Wave or Zigbee drivers. If you’re a smart home enthusiast, let us know what you use – chances are, there’s a way to integrate (and we probably have experience with it).

Bottom line: whether you’re Team Alexa, Google, Apple, or something else, we’ll get your blinds talking to it. And if you’re not into any of that – the system works great standalone with our app or remote.

Do I need a hub or bridge device for these blinds?

It depends on the motor technology we choose, but often no dedicated hub is needed. Many newer motors have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth built-in or use the Matter/Thread standard to connect via your existing smart speakers/hubs (like a HomePod mini or newer Echo, which act as Thread border routers or Zigbee hubs). If you have none of those and want voice/app control, we might use a small gateway (like the Bond Bridge or Somfy TaHoma) that plugs into your Wi-Fi router – this acts as the liaison between the blinds and your network. We’ll configure any needed device during installation. Importantly, even with a bridge, your system remains local for responsiveness and can still work if the internet is down (voice might not without internet, but app within your Wi-Fi or the remote will). We’ll choose the simplest, most robust setup for your home so you don’t have a clutter of devices – often it’s just the blinds and your phone

Can I control the blinds when I’m not home?

Yes, if you integrate them with a smart home system or our cloud-enabled app, you can control your blinds from anywhere with internet access. For example, you’re at work and realize you left the blinds closed – open them from your phone to let your plants get light. Or you’re on vacation and want it to look like someone’s home – you can adjust the shades remotely (though setting an automatic schedule might be even easier). Remote access does require that the blinds are connected via Wi-Fi/Matter to the internet (we’ll do that setup). If you choose to only use the handheld RF remote and no connectivity, then remote-from-away isn’t possible (the RF remote only works in the house). But most customers opt for app connectivity for the extra convenience. It’s pretty neat (and sort of James Bond-esque) to be able to control your house from anywhere in the world

Do the blinds have a memory for positions (like 50% open, etc.)?

They do! We can set favorite positions. Most remotes have a “stop” button that doubles as a favorite preset. For instance, we can program that button to stop the blind at 50% open, or whatever position you like (great for aligning multiple blinds at the same height). In apps, you can usually drag to a specific percentage or create scenes that send blinds to certain positions (like 25% open to reduce glare but not fully dark). Our motors also have built-in limit settings – they remember the top and bottom so they’ll never overrun. We can even set intermediate limits if desired. And if you have multiple blinds in one room, we can synchronize them to move together or offset, as you prefer. Essentially, yes – these blinds are smart enough to handle precise positioning for you.

My Wi-Fi isn’t very strong in some rooms – will that be a problem?

It hasn’t been in practice. Many motors use RF (radio frequency) to talk to the remote/bridge, which doesn’t rely on your home Wi-Fi at all and has good range. For those that use Wi-Fi, they connect like any device – if you have trouble streaming video in that room, then we might consider a different approach (like a stronger hub signal or a mesh Wi-Fi extender). However, the data these blinds use is very minimal (they’re just sending small commands), so they don’t need high bandwidth. During installation, we test connectivity. If signal is an issue, we have solutions: e.g., a Z-Wave or Zigbee based motor that can hop through a mesh network to reach the hub, or using a dedicated bridge placed closer to that room. Worst case, the blinds will always work with the handheld remote regardless of Wi-Fi. We’ll make sure you have reliable control one way or another. If you have a known Wi-Fi dead spot, let’s talk – we can strategize accordingly.

Can I integrate the blinds with routines or schedules along with other devices (lights, thermostat, etc.)?

Yes indeed. One of the best things about smart blinds is how they can coordinate with other smart home routines: – Using Alexa or Google, you can set up routines like “Alexa, Good Night” that turn off lights, lower blinds, adjust thermostat, all together.
– In Apple HomeKit, you can create scenes (e.g., “Good Morning” that opens blinds and starts your coffee maker smart plug).
– Some thermostats (like Ecobee) can even trigger blinds: for example, if the afternoon sun is heating the room and AC is straining, you could have a routine that lowers blinds when indoor temp hits X and AC is running.
– We’ve also done integrations with smart lighting systems – e.g., when shades close, lights slowly brighten to compensate for lost sunlight, creating a seamless ambience. – If you’re into home automation platforms like SmartThings or Home Assistant, the possibilities are endless – you can script whatever you want. The blinds basically become another controllable endpoint in your home.

On a simpler level, nearly all systems allow scheduling by time or sunrise/sunset. So you can, for instance, schedule the bedroom blinds to open at 7:00 AM weekdays, and close at sunset automatically. We can help set up basic schedules for you in our app or your preferred platform. It’s all about making the tech serve your lifestyle automatically

Power & Charging

How long do the batteries last?

Typically around 4 to 6 months per charge for average-sized shades with average use. “Average use” means maybe opening and closing once or twice a day. Larger blinds (big wide ones) or very frequent use (lots of up-and-down daily) will shorten that span – maybe to 2-3 months.
Conversely, a small window you rarely adjust could go 6+ months.
The good thing is, the system will tell you when it’s time: the motor might beep or flash a light, and the app (if you use it) will show a low battery warning. And because charging is as simple as plugging into a little port, it’s no big deal – many people do it overnight like charging a phone, and you’re good to go for months again

How do I recharge the blinds?

It’s easy. Each blind has a concealed charging port (often a small plug on the headrail or a short cable you can pull out). We provide a charging adapter – usually USB style or a small plug – that connects to that port. To charge, you plug it in like you would a phone or laptop. You can do one blind at a time or several if you have multiple chargers (we can provide extra if you want). Charging time is a few hours to full (depends on battery size and level, but 4-6 hours is common for a full charge from empty). You don’t need to remove the blinds or anything – charge them in place. Some customers do it in the evening when blinds are down anyway, and by morning they’re set. If you have a solar panel attached, then charging happens automatically whenever there’s sunlight; you’d rarely, if ever, need to manually charge in that case

Tell me more about the solar panel – will it really keep me from having to charge?

In most cases, yes, the solar charging kit greatly extends or even eliminates manual charging. The solar panel is a strip (about 1.5” wide and the width of the shade) that we mount on the window where it catches sun (usually behind the shade, at the top or bottom of the window). It connects to the blind’s battery. With around 4-6 hours of decent sun a day, it should fully recharge the battery for normal daily use, meaning the battery stays topped up. If you have many cloudy days, the battery might dip, but as soon as sun is back, it charges. The panels are designed to prevent overcharging – they only supply what’s needed. They also work in indirect light, just slower. So if your window gets some sun, solar is usually worth it for the convenience (especially for high or hard-to-reach windows).

The panel itself is low-profile and we mount it neatly. It’s also optional – you can always start without and add later if you find charging annoying. But our customers who have solar love that they can essentially forget about battery maintenance

Can the blinds be hardwired into my electrical system (so I don’t deal with batteries at all)?

Yes, if you prefer, we do offer hardwired motor options. These either plug into a standard outlet (sometimes we can hide the cord along trim) or are wired into your home’s electrical circuits (usually done if walls are open or pre-wired, since retrofitting wires inside walls can be invasive). Hardwired motors are great for new construction or if you’re doing renovations – you get constant power and slightly stronger motors capable of very large shades. We often hardwire when a client has extremely wide, heavy shades or a high volume of shades all grouped. However, in most existing homes, people opt for battery/solar because it avoids any electrical work and works like a charm. We can discuss the pros/cons in your context. If you have outlets near each window, the plug-in route is a halfway – you’ll see a small cable but never worry about charging.

We’re flexible and can do whatever fits your needs best

Are the motors loud? Will I hear them buzz or whir?

They are very quiet – designed for home use. Different brands have different noise ratings, but many of our common motors operate around 35 dB or less, which is about the sound of a whisper. In practical terms, you’ll hear a soft hum if the room is silent, especially for bigger blinds that need more power, but it’s not disruptive. There’s no loud cranking or grinding noise. During the day with normal ambient noise, you might not notice it at all. At night when it’s very quiet, you’ll hear a gentle whirr for a few seconds – most folks find it much quieter than, say, an electric garage door or even a remote control curtain rod. We’ve installed in nurseries and bedrooms without issues – sometimes the HVAC vent noise is louder than the shade motor! If noise is a super concern (for example, you want absolute silence in a recording studio or something), talk to us – we have ultra-quiet motor models too. We can demo a motor for you; hearing is believing

What happens in a power outage? Can I still use my blinds?

If your blinds are battery or solar powered, yes, they are unaffected by a house power outage – they’ll keep working off their battery reserve. (Kinda nice, right? During a daytime outage you can still open/close to get light or privacy.) Even if your Wi-Fi is down, the handheld remote will still directly communicate with the blinds. If you have hardwired blinds without a battery backup, then they would not operate during an outage (similar to how your wired lights wouldn’t until the power returns). But we can install a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for critical blinds if needed, or simply rely on manual curtains as backup. In areas prone to outages (hello, hurricane season), the battery/solar option is actually extra handy – no generator needed for your window coverings. They’re a small island of resilience in your home’s ecosystem

Do I ever need to replace the batteries?

The lithium-ion batteries in our motors are rechargeable and built-in, so you don’t replace them like disposables; you just recharge. They are rated for many cycles – typically hundreds of charge cycles, which equates to many years of use. Over 5-7+ years, you might notice a slight reduction in charge holding (like your phone battery after a few years) – maybe instead of 6 months it holds 4-5 months. If a battery truly degrades or fails, it can often be replaced without replacing the whole blind. For example, we can swap out the motor tube or battery pack in the headrail. That’s usually only necessary far down the line. During the warranty period, if any battery doesn’t perform as it should, we replace it free. After that, the cost to replace a battery is not bad – but again, it’s not something you do regularly. No need for buying AA batteries or anything like that – just recharge the built-in one. We also properly dispose/recycle old lithium batteries if it ever comes to that. In short: treat them well, charge when needed, and they’ll last a long time

Safety & Design

Are motorized blinds really safe for children and pets?

Yes! In fact, they’re one of the safest options available. With traditional blinds, dangly cords were a major hazard – the #1 cause of child strangulation in the home when it comes to decor. Our motorized blinds are 100% cordless, completely removing that risk. Nothing to get tangled in, nothing to accidentally wrap around. Additionally, many of our products have been certified under the “Best for Kids” program, meaning they’ve passed specific safety criteria for use in homes with young children. For pets, it’s similarly safer – no cords to chew or get caught in. We often also get rid of chains (like those loop chains on old roller shades) by using motorization. And beyond cords: our installations are sturdy (no risk of a heavy blind randomly falling). If you have toddler beds or cribs near windows, we’ll ensure the treatment is securely installed and consider things like using a wall clip for remotes (so they don’t become toys). We take safety seriously because we’re parents and pet-lovers too. Your home should be worry-free, and we help with that

What styles of blinds and shades do you offer?

A wide variety! Part of our service is helping you choose the right style, but here’s a snapshot: – Roller Shades: Sleek and modern, fabric rolls up at the top. We have everything from sheer rollers (that you can see through gently) to total blackout rollers. Huge range of colors/textures. Great for a minimalist look.
Cellular Shades (Honeycomb): Soft, pleated shades with honeycomb cells that trap air (good for insulation). They can be light-filtering or blackout. They collapse up tightly. Good for a more textured look and excellent energy efficiency.
Zebra Shades: These are the stripes of sheer and solid that can align or offset to adjust light (also called dual shades or banded shades). Very stylish and versatile, giving you both sheer and privacy in one.
Layered Drapery & Curtains: Yes, we can motorize drapes too! If you love the soft look of curtains, we install motorized tracks that smoothly glide your drapes open/closed. Can be done alone or in combination with shades.
Roman Shades: Fabric shades that fold into pleats as they lift. We can motorize certain styles of Romans. They give a classic, elegant look with the convenience of motorization.
Woven Wood & Natural Shades: Made from bamboo, grasses, or wood weaves – great for a coastal or organic vibe. We can add liners to them for more privacy/light control. These can be motorized as rollers or Romans depending on style.
Outdoor Shades: If you have a patio or porch, we have weatherproof motorized shades and screens (as seen in our gallery). They’re usually a solar mesh fabric that cuts glare and keeps out some weather and bugs.
Shutters: Currently, motorized interior shutters are not common (shutters generally remain manual tilt), but there are emerging solutions – if you’re interested, we can discuss. Typically we do other solutions for windows where someone might consider shutters but wants motorization (like a motorized blind that looks like a shutter panel).
Blinds with Tilt (like Venetians): We can motorize the tilt function of horizontal blinds if someone wants traditional wood or faux-wood blinds but with remote tilt. However, they won’t lift up/down via motor, only tilt (lifting traditional slatted blinds fully is not practical by motor in most cases – they’re heavy and stack). We find most clients prefer shades over slats when going motorized.

In short, we pretty much have every category except maybe very niche treatments. If you name it, we likely offer it motorized! And if you’re not sure, we’ll guide you based on your decor and functional needs

Can I get my blinds to match my interior decor?

Definitely. We have hundreds of fabric and color options. During your consult, we’ll bring swatches that coordinate with your color scheme – whether you want them to blend in (e.g., white shades on a white wall) or make a statement (e.g., a pop of color or pattern). Many fabrics come in various tones and textures – linens, silks, tweeds, you name it. We can also consider the hardware finish (valances, bottom rails, etc.) – those often come in white, anodized metal, bronze, black, etc., to complement your window frames or decor style. If you have other window treatments in the home or specific paint colors, let us know – we strive to achieve a cohesive look. We’ve even done custom printing (like shades printed with a specific image or design) for special projects. Bottom line: there’s no need to sacrifice style for tech. You can have ultra-modern smart blinds that also look spot-on with your interior design

I want both light during the day and privacy at night – can one treatment do both?

We have a couple of approaches for that “day/night” versatility: – Dual Shades: This is a popular choice – two shades in one window. Typically a sheer or screen shade for daytime, and a blackout shade for night, each on its own roller but combined in one compact headrail. You switch between them as needed (and both can be motorized).
Zebra (Layered) Shades: These can transition from a translucent view (when the sheer and solid stripes align) to a more closed, dimmed setting (when the solid stripes overlap). Not 100% blackout, but good for moderate privacy and light control in one product.
Top-Down/Bottom-Up Cellulars (motorized): These are rare to motorize (often top-down is manual due to gravity issues), but there are some that allow you to have the top open for light and bottom closed for privacy, via motor. We can look into that if interested.
Sheer Drapery + Blackout Drapery combos: On a motorized track, we can have two layers of curtains – a sheer and a heavy drape – that you can use in combination.
Smart Tint or Smart Glass: Just to mention, there’s tech like electrochromic film that goes from clear to frosted – not a blind, but interesting! We don’t currently offer it as a standard, but it exists.

Most commonly, dual roller shades are the go-to for total flexibility. We’ve done many installs where during the day a screen shade is down (you can see out, light comes in, but glare/UV are reduced), and at night a hidden blackout shade comes down to give full privacy. From inside, you wouldn’t even guess two shades are in there – it’s designed neatly. We’ll definitely discuss these options if you express interest in day-night functionality

Are the fabrics flame retardant or anti-mold or anything? (I have specific needs)

Many of our fabrics come with special properties: – Flame Retardant: There are fabrics that meet commercial fire codes (NFPA 701). If you want FR-rated fabric for peace of mind, we can provide those (often schools or healthcare settings require them, and some homeowners just like the extra safety).
Moisture/Mold Resistant: For humid areas like bathrooms or coastal homes, we have synthetic fabrics and solar screens that resist mold/mildew. They’re easy to clean and won’t harbor moisture.
Anti-Microbial: Some fabrics are treated to resist bacteria or have Greenguard® certification for indoor air quality (low VOC emissions). Good for those with allergies or stringent health requirements.
Blackout vs Light-Filtering vs Sheer: We’ll clarify fabric openness or opacity so you get exactly the light control you want.
Eco-friendly: We even have lines made from recycled materials or sustainable fibers if green living is a priority.
Pet-Durable: If you have cats that might claw or dogs that slobber 😂, we can suggest materials less likely to show damage (e.g., avoid loosely woven shades with cats, maybe go for roller screens which are tougher).

Just let us know your concerns or needs. Because we source from multiple top manufacturers, we can usually tick whatever boxes are important to you (safety, health, durability, sustainability, etc.), all while delivering on the look and function

I noticed some shades have side channels in your pics – what are those for?

Great observation! Side channels are U-shaped tracks that run down the sides of the window frame. They catch the edges of the shade fabric to eliminate light gaps. We use them mostly for blackout applications – like in bedrooms, nurseries, or media rooms – when the client wants it as dark as possible. Without side channels, even a well-fitted blackout roller shade will leak a sliver of light around the edges (often a halo effect). Side channels solve that by sealing those gaps. They also can help with insulation and draft reduction a bit. Aesthetically, they blend with the window frame (we match the color). Not everyone needs or wants them (they add cost and a bit of hardware visible), but for the ultimate darkness or a very polished built-in look, they’re fantastic. In the gallery, the nursery project had them for instance. We’ll bring it up if we think your project would benefit. You can also add them later in many cases if you try without and then decide you want more light blocking. We’re all about achieving your desired result

Aftercare & Warranty

What kind of warranty do you offer?

We provide a {{Warranty Summary}} on our products and installation. This typically means the motor and electronic components are covered for X years (often 5 years for motors is standard from our suppliers, for example), and the general craftsmanship/hardware for a similar period or longer. We’ll give you the exact warranty documentation for your specific products, but rest assured: if a motor fails in that warranty window due to defect, we replace or repair it at no cost to you. Likewise for remote controllers or smart hubs we provided. The fabric and shade hardware usually have a warranty against manufacturing defects as well (e.g., if a clutch or chain on a non-motor shade were to malfunction, etc.). Additionally, our own service guarantee is that we will make things right. Even post-warranty, we aim to support you reasonably – we’ve been known to take care of small issues as a courtesy because we value our reputation and your satisfaction. The warranty doesn’t cover, say, Fido chewing through a shade, or you accidentally cutting a wire, etc., but even then we’ll help with a repair at minimal cost. In summary: you’re covered, and we’ve got your back

How do I clean and maintain my smart blinds?

Maintenance is pretty minimal. For cleaning: – Dusting: Use a feather duster or soft cloth periodically to remove dust. Most shades can also be gently vacuumed with a brush attachment – especially cellular shades or fabric roman shades – just do it on a low suction setting.
Spot Cleaning: If you get a smudge on a fabric shade, try a slightly damp cloth with mild soap (test a tiny inconspicuous area first). Gently blot – do not saturate the fabric. Many roller shade fabrics are vinyl or polyester blends that wipe clean easily. Fabric Romans or drapes might need professional cleaning if heavily soiled (we can advise case-by-case).
No Harsh Chemicals: Avoid bleach or strong solvents as they could discolor or degrade the material or coatings.
Moving Parts: The motors and mechanism generally don’t need any lubrication or anything. In fact, don’t oil them; they’re pre-lubricated and sealed. If you ever hear scraping, it’s better to call us rather than DIY, but that’s very rare.
Outdoor Shades: These can be hosed down gently if needed (say pollen buildup). Just avoid power-washing and make sure to leave them down to dry before retracting to prevent mildew.
Battery Maintenance: For battery motors, just charge as needed. It’s okay to top off the battery; there’s no memory effect. Unplug once charged (though they won’t overcharge thanks to built-in protection). For solar panels, occasionally dust them to ensure they get maximum sun.
Winter/Summer: Our products are designed for year-round use. Heat and humidity are fine for interior shades (and outdoor ones are built for it). If you ever go on extended vacation, you can leave shades either down or up – won’t harm them either way.

We’ll give you any specific cleaning instructions for your exact fabric (some have particular instructions, which we’ll note in your packet). Overall, these blinds are quite low-maintenance, one of the perks of quality materials

What if something goes wrong or I need help after installation?

Just call or email us – we’re here to help. We pride ourselves on responsive aftercare. If your remote isn’t working, or you got a new router and need to reconnect the app, or a shade is behaving oddly, reach out. Often we can troubleshoot in a few minutes over the phone (e.g., “try replacing the remote battery,” or “let’s walk through re-pairing that one shade to your network”). If we determine a visit is needed – maybe a motor needs a reset or replacement – we’ll schedule a service call at a convenient time. During warranty, that’s of course free. Even beyond, we’ll do our best to keep any costs low and fair (like just charge for a new part if needed, etc.). We’re not the type of company that vanishes after getting paid – we build our reputation on long-term service. Many of our 5-star reviews mention how great our support was even months/years later. So, you can count on us. Just keep our contact info handy (we’ll also reach out occasionally to check in and make sure all is well)

Do you offer any maintenance plans or annual check-ups?

Honestly, with these products, routine maintenance isn’t really necessary (unlike, say, an HVAC that needs yearly service). We don’t want to sell you something you don’t need. We do, however, offer an optional annual “tune-up” visit for a nominal fee if you want – where we come and inspect all your shades, give them a thorough dusting/cleaning, check battery health, update firmware if applicable, and re-tighten brackets, etc. Most customers don’t find that necessary unless they have an extensive installation or maybe a commercial setting. We generally find our residential installs chug along fine with minimal upkeep (just normal light cleaning by the homeowner). But the bottom line: if at any time you feel something needs a check or you just want us to look things over, we’re happy to – just reach out. We’d rather prevent an issue than react to one, and we like staying in touch to ensure you’re fully satisfied

What if I decide I want more blinds or to motorize other windows later?

We’d be thrilled to help you again! Many clients do one phase (say downstairs) and then come back for more (upstairs, etc.) once they see how much they love the result. Since we keep records of the products we used for you, we can easily add matching or complementary treatments in future phases. Just contact us and we’ll treat it like a new (but usually quicker) consultation – maybe we only need to measure the new windows and you already know what styles you want, or we bring a few more samples if you’re thinking of a different look for another area. We also continue to inform past customers of any new tech or upgrades. For example, if two years from now some amazing new motor or integration comes out, we might send a friendly update to let you know it’s available.
But we won’t do any changes unless you ask; your setup will remain great as-is. When you’re ready to expand, we’ll ensure consistency (so everything still works on the same remote/app seamlessly). It’s very easy to add devices to your existing system – we just program them in. So yes, whether it’s a month later or years later, we’re here and ready to help with any new project you have in mind

Still have a question? If we didn’t cover it here, just ask! Feel free to contact us by phone or email – we’re always happy to provide more information. When you’re ready, we can also schedule your free consultation to address your specific needs in person
